  • What is the difference between 'tethered' and 'untethered' cables?
    'Tethered' means there is a cable permanently attached to the charging box at one end. 'Untethered' means that a cable plugs into your car at one end and the box at the other. So you’ll be able to source your own cable to charge your EV. For example, the one that was delivered with your EV.
  • What size cable do I need for an EV charger?
    Your cable will need to be long enough to comfortably reach your EV from your chargepoint. Depending on the brand you chose, the cables of our tethered EV chargers are between 5 and 8 metres long. Generally, this is enough for most houses where the box is on the outside of the house and the car is parked on a driveway.
  • What does a 'standard installation' involve?
    Our EV chargepoint installations are grouped into three categories. They consider different factors that help us estimate how complex the installation is going to be: Where do you want your charger to be fitted? How long will it take to run a cable from your main fuse box to your charger? Will we need to drill through any walls?
  • Already own an EV charger?
    No problem! We can provide you with a installation only price.
  • Can you install any EV charger?
    Yes! We can accommodate any manufacturer.
  • How long does it take to charge an electric vehicle?
    When you charge an electric vehicle, there are many factors that affect how long it can take, such as the speed of the electric charging point, the size of the battery in the vehicle, and how depleted the battery is by the time you go to charge it. Fully charging an electric vehicle can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 12 hours or more. A typical electric car takes just under 8 hours to fully charge from empty, assuming a 7kw charging point is used.
  • What are the different types of EV charging?
    Slow Charging Slow EV charging is the slowest type of charging available, and a standard 3.6kw 230-volt outlet is typically used. Slow EV charge points can take up to 24 hours to fully charge an electric vehicle. These types of chargers are typically used in homes or workplaces where people do not need to charge their cars quickly. Fast Charging Fast charging typically use a 7kw 230-volt outlet. Fast EV charge points can take up to 12 hours to fully charge an electric vehicle. These types of chargers are usually used in homes and public places where people need to be able to charge their vehicles quickly. Rapid Charging Rapid EV charge points are the fastest type of charger available, and they typically use 50kw to 200kw DC outlet. Rapid EV charge points can take just one hour to fully charge an electric vehicle. These types of chargers are usually used in commercial or industrial settings where people need to be able to charge their vehicles very quickly.
  • What extras could there be on top of the price?
    1) If the charger is more than 15 metres from the fuseboard 2) If the fuseboard is located in the centre of the house; without simple means of getting a cable outside (I.e would have to go under the floor) 3) Installation of an additional fuseboard or surge protection device 4) Installation of cables underground or require chasing walls
